They are from Municipality of Carmen in North Cotabato Province. WFP Food for Work project on commucal garden and fish pond. The participants of the project are indigenous people who do not receive any support from DSWD. They construct the garden and pond to produce their food and if possible sell the products to generate income. WFP pays their labour in the form of food. We pay them rice. It is very nice to see them working hard to receive rice and they can continue maintaining the garden and pond to sustain their livelihood. Our work is not only supporting them with providing food but also their capacity building.
