National UNV volunteers (NUNV) are composed of two categories: NUNV Specialist and NUNV Field Worker. They work in their own country and often serve in 'mixed teams' with international UNV volunteers. They are most often recruited to work on community-based development projects with participatory approaches.
NUNV Specialist
NUNV Specialists should meet all of the following criteria:
- A bachelor's or higher degree from accredited university
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience following higher education
- Minimum 25 years old
- Excellent communication skills in English
NUNV Field Worker
NUNV Field Workers should meet all of the following criteria:
- High school diploma or higer
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
- Minimum 21 years old
- Skiils and experience in community development
- Excellent communication skills in English
Regardless of age, years of professional experience, or educational levels, NUNV Specialists receive a monthly allowance of Php 20,500 (as of February 2009) and NUNV Field Worker Php 9,500 that will cover all living expenses.
