GK 1 Milyong Bayani (Gawad Kalinga)

Guided by their values of Bayanihan or becoming a hero to each other, the Gawad Kalinga works for their vision to a slum-free, squatter-free Filipino nation.

Gawad Kalinga or to give care, seeks ways to give back to the Filipinos their lost dignity and peace by providing land for the landless, homes for the homeless and food for the hungry. It is their goal to give each Filipino the feeling of security and the comfort of a sanctuary.

One of the targets of the Gawad Kalinga is the youth, they encourage them to inflict change not only in the system but as well as the society. They believe in the power of the youth to choose change and bring change for the better tomorrow, as they say, the future lies in the hands of the youth.

Musmos (The Little Child) by ZONE One

ZONE One, an innovative youth program, is empowering out-of-school Filipino youth. It provides them with many things including the outlet to express their thoughts, hopes and dreams.

ZONE One was started as a youth development program by Zone One Tondo Organization (ZOTO), a community-based organization made up of almost 200 local organizations. Through community teamwork, ZONE One is letting the voices of these young people be heard in a search to address social injustice and change the lot of millions of poor people in the Philippines. The ultimate goal is to make a more equitable society in the future.
