Land of Many Waters (June 2010)
I dreamt of South America. Two months before I was to finish my contract in Africa , I got an e-mail from UNV for an assignment in Guyana . I gladly accepted and went through the process of recruitment. My dad, mom and brothers, as always, rooted for me and were ecstatic for me — never mind that, at the back of their minds, they find me strange and not your “typical” doctor … a doctor who chases her dreams in the farthest corners of the earth. But they love me nonetheless.

Online volunteering opens the door to world citizenship (December 2009)

Who said "No, we can't"? (December 2009)
Have you ever wondered how, directly or indirectly, your volunteer work helps other people?
You do not bring in millions of dollars to build and rebuild highways, schools, and bridges. You may not produce instant answers when and where they are desperately needed. You are crying together when you're supposed to cheer them up. You feel either “too young” or “too old" to do anything, inadequate to make any significant differences to other people’s lives.
This video has been around on Youtube for sometime now and remains an inspiration to countless change makers like you who strive to make this world a better, peaceful place to live in.
Season's greetings from the UNV Philippines.
